Early on the stage, five optimistic riders attacked on the first climbs of Climbing Mounta Daimaru. They managed to keep a gap between them and the peloton until they reached the final climb. At the bottom of the climb, the group of favourites passed them. Rider by rider, they couldn't keep up with the tempo set by Orica Green Edge, who were supporting Wayne Harding. Right behind the riders of Orica Green Edge was Van Landry and Harold van Loen lurking. Wayne Harding looked strong, and seemed to have a good day, but when Harold van Loen launched an attack, only Van Landry could follow. Van Landry made a counter-attack and was suddenly alone in the front, as Wayne Harding caught up Harold van Loen once again. Van Landry secured his victory without problems, while Wayne Harding was faster in the sprint than Harold van Loen.
I'm still in shock. When the attack started earlier today, I didn't expect to end up as winner, said the happy Hoosier State Cycling rider, Van Landry. "Only at the very end, I realized that this could be my chance, and so it was."
Hoosier State Cycling's manager, Clarence Beagle, was satisfied after the result in Climbing Mounta Daimaru. "Van Landry did very well today. Everything turned out as we planned it, and Van Landry had the power to win," said the manager.

Not maxed... Nice :-)
That's the idea, he still needs to max and then I can boost those TT numbers to give him a shot at tours down the road.
He's only got the potential to be an average climber and TT'er, but maybe combined he can be pretty good.
some day that Van will do well for you in Fast on Wheels if you get him TT centered. If not, he can hand out candy to little kids. :)
Dirty van Laundry is a nice rider!
